STUDENTS OF THE MOOT COURT COMMUNITY OF THE FACULTY OF SHARIA AND LAW CARRY OUT INTERSHIP AT THE PRABUMULIH RELIGIOUS COURT

FSH-UIN — Listina and Sara Marlina, two students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law of UIN Raden Fatah, carried out an intership program commonly called an independent internship at the Prabumulih Religious Court on 06 January-14 February 2025. This programme is a special activity carried out by students who are members of the Moot Court Community (MCC) or Moot Court Community of the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.

MCC is a semi-autonomous student body that focuses on mastering hard skills and soft skills in the field of procedural law. Before carrying out the intership programme, all students who are members of the MCC are given online and offline briefings by Supervisors who come from faculty lecturers and legal practitioners.

The presence of the two students was received directly by the Chairman of the Prabumulih Religious Court YM. Mr Darda Aristo, SHI, MH was accompanied by the Secretary and Registrar. In his speech YM. Darda Aristo expressed his appreciation for this intership programme. ‘As the Chairman of the Prabumulih Religious Court welcomes this activity and will provide maximum support. This internship activity will train students’ skills in the world of work and can improve the quality and quality of the students themselves, and hopefully can add insight into the legal processes carried out at the Prabumulih Religious Court, ’he said.

In addition, YM. Darda Aristo also hopes that during the internship at PA Prabumulih, students will gain knowledge about law, judicial institutions and can contribute to the Religious Court according to the programme plan and can maintain the good name of the Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Raden Fatah and the Prabumulih Religious Court.

During the internship, students will receive various materials, directions and guidance from supervisors, judges, clerks and functional staff of the Prabumulih Religious Court. During the first week of the internship students received material about the lawsuit letter from the resource person Mr Humaidi a Judge at the Prabumulih Religious Court. He explained that the structure of a lawsuit letter consists of: identity (containing the name, population identification number, address, telephone number and electronic address of the plaintiff and defendant), posita (containing the complete chronology of the lawsuit), petitum (containing the demands of the plaintiff) and the practice of making a lawsuit letter. He also explained that divorce can be divided into two, namely divorce talak (if the husband is the plaintiff) and divorce gugat (if the wife is the plaintiff), an explanation of how the case process, the strength of evidence, and when the decision becomes final. The intership time is long enough to allow students to learn many things at the Prabumulih Religious Court and they will even practice trials directly in the actual courtroom accompanied directly by law enforcers at the Prabumulih Religious Court.
