FSH-UIN — Moot Court Community (MCC) is a semi-autonomous organisation under the auspices of the Faculty of Sharia & Law, inaugurated on 02 November 2024. It is formed to train students to understand, apply, and practice legal theories learned through trial simulations. Students are trained to compile strong legal arguments, analyse cases, and convey opinions effectively. In addition to technical legal skills, this community is also trained in communication, teamwork, and time management.
The MCC intership programme was approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Shari’ah and Law, Dr H. Muhammad Harun, M.Ag, who advised that ‘MCC members should make the most of this opportunity, learning all the legal processes at the Religious High Court with diligence’.
The intership programme was also conducted in consultation with Vice Dean III for student activities. In his direction, he hopes that the MCC intership can motivate students to be more confident in determining their choice of legal profession and to be prepared to compete in the world of work. According to him, the intership held by the Moot Court Community will help students better understand legal theories through direct trial practice (learning by doing).
Six students carried out independent internships on 13 January-14 February 2025 at the Palembang Religious High Court: Dea Anjelina (Islamic Family Law), Regina Dwi Ramadani (Sharia Economic Law), Septia Arianty, Rajwa Malia Nursyahirah, Ayumi Rais Hendra, and Nindya Mareta (Islamic Criminal Law).
The interns were accompanied by the Moot Court Community Supervisor, Mrs Armasito S.Ag., M.H, and received by the Chairman of the Palembang Religious Court, His Honour Dr. H. M. Sutomo, S.H., M.H. In his speech, Sutomo asked the students to be enthusiastic and not afraid to dream high because education is the key to success.
Mrs. Armasito S.Ag., M.H, as the supervisor of Moot Court Community, hopes that this independent internship programme can train students to gain practical work experience directly and add insight.
Interns are increasingly enthusiastic to participate in independent internships for the next 1 month. On the first day of their internship, they met the staff, who welcomed them and guided them to work on tasks and personnel administration documents. This independent internship programme at the Palembang High Court of Religion is expected to provide experience, increase knowledge, and be able to adapt and work together in the Palembang High Court of Religion environment.
